How much is the entry fee for the team event?

Entry fee is £90 per team.

What time will the team event commence?

The team event ‘Round Robin’ stage starts at 8.45am on Friday morning, with groups 1 to 16. The afternoon session starts around 1.45pm, for groups 17 to 32.

  1. Teams must have a minimum of 3 players and a maximum of 6 players.
  2. Played to Blackball rules, teams will typically play 54 frames of pool, before they can be knocked out of the tournament.
  3. Players lag for break at start of each frame.
  4. Fixed order of play sheet must be completed for each match prior to starting.
  5. Teams ARE NOT seeded for the group stages or the knockout stages.

Friday Round Robin

  1. Teams divided into groups of 4 to play a round robin. Each match consists of 9 frames – 3 sets of 3 frames.
  2. Fixed order of play – all players to play each other once.
  3. Players 1, 2 and 3 must remain those players throughout the match.
  4. Reserve players can be used in sets 2 and 3. 
  5. Players can be substituted for a reserve player on order of play sheet at any time.
  6. Players can only play each other once, in any match, apart from the sub.
  7. Winning team receives 8 points for a win whilst the losing team receives 1 point for each frame won, meaning losing teams still have everything to play for, even when they know they have lost the match.
  8. Top two teams from each group enter the Team Trophy Round Robin on Saturday.
  9. Bottom two teams from each group enter the Plate Round Robin on Saturday.

Saturday Round Robin

  1. Saturday morning session will be 16 groups of 4 teams competing for the PLATE event.
  2. Saturday afternoon session with 16 groups of 4 teams competing for the TROPHY event.
  3. Top two teams from every group will go through to the knockout round on Sunday.
  4. Teams continue with the same format as Friday.
  5. Each match consists of 9 frames – 3 sets of 3 frames. All frames must be played.
  6. Fixed order of play – all players to play each other once.
  7. Players 1, 2 and 3 must remain those players throughout the match.
  8. Reserve players can be used in sets 2 and 3. 
  9. Players can be substituted for a reserve player on order of play sheet at any time.
  10. Players can only play each other once, in any match, apart from the sub.
  11. Winning team receives 8 points for a win whilst the losing team receives 1 point for each frame won, meaning losing teams still have everything to play for, even when they know they have lost the match.
  12. Teams that are tied on points in group stages will decide the winner through a Blackball shootout. 

Sunday Knockout 

  1. Team Trophy last 32 knockout stage.
  2. Plate event last 32 knockout stage.
  3. Format will be a best of 9 knockout – first to win 5 frames.

Penalty Shootout Rule

  1. 5 penalties are taken by each team, highest scorer wins. Sudden death if tie occurs.
  2. An order of play sheet must be created and followed.
  3. The black ball is placed on the spot at the rack end of the table.
  4. Player can position cue ball anywhere behind the baulk line.
  5. Player must pot the black ball, using one shot, to score a goal.
  6. If the black ball fails to pot, or the white ball is potted or a foul is committed, then the penalty is considered a miss.
  7. If score is a draw after all shots taken, then a sudden death round begins, following the order of play sheet.
  8. Both players must take their shot i.e. if player one misses, then their opponent must take their shot and pot to win.
